BBC Worldwide has announced that BBC America HD will be launched on July 20. This will be high-definition simulcast of BBC America and will debut with an extraordinary week of sci-fi U.S. premieres. BBC America HD will launch with the channel’s popular series that includes:
Torchwood
Doctor Who special
Planet of the Dead
Being Human and
Primeval
BBC America HD will start with its highest rated series Torchwood: Children of Earth in HD and will run on five consecutive nights starting July 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The U.S. premiere of the first of the last four Doctor Who specials featuring David Tennant as the tenth Time Lord will be broadcast on Sunday, July 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
