Suddenlink Launches Three HD Channels in Batesville, Arkansas

Suddenlink Communications has added three new high-definition channels in Batesville, Arkansas. With 1.3 million subscribers serving in 19 states is expanding its high-definition programming line-up.
Following are the new HD channels added in its HD Basic tier of service:

Suddenlink is now offering 12 high-definition channels and one local HD programming channel in HD Basic in Batesville area.

Verizon Communications has announced on Nov. 6 that it has added 55 new channels, including 53 additional high-definition channels in its FiOS TV programming line-up in the Richmond area. FiOS TV subscribers is offered with 100 high-definition channels, more than 800 HD choices available at any time and excess of 700 HD video-on-demand titles offered every month.

Verizon claims that it offers more HD channels than the cable operator Comcast in Richmond area and also planning to add more HD channels. These new HD channels added are a part of the commitment to offer more HD channels and lead the industry in quality programming.

DirecTV Launches Local HD Programming in Colorado Springs-Pueblo, Colorado

DirecTV has launched local high-definition programming in Colorado Springs-Pueblo, Colorado. The satcaster now offers local HD channels in 103 cities, representing nearly 85 percent of U.S. TV households. DirecTV has been launching local HD broadcast in many markets and also national HD channels like Crime & Investigation channels in HD. ION Television To Go HD in 2009

ION Television will be launched in high-definition in the first quarter of next year. ION Media Networks, owner and operator of ION Television has announced this on Monday. Along with ION Television, children’s programming qubo, and lifestyle-related programming network ION Life also to be launched in HD in 2009. ION Media Networks has made all arrangements to bring the new HD simulcast of the channels and the consumers will have a enhanced viewing experience.

Verizon Announces More Choices for Consumers in Millbury, Massachusetts

Verizon has announced that they offer more programming choices in Millbury delivered over the advanced all-fiber network with superior picture quality. Verizon recently launched 75 new channels, which include 55 HD channels to its FiOS TV programming lineup in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Verizon claims that FiOS TV offers more than 400 channels including 85 HD channels, more than Comcast. New FiOS TV subscriber who signs by Oct. 4 will receive their choice of a year’s free use of either an HD digital video recorder or an HD Home Media DVR.

CN8 Dominates Democratic and Republican National Convention Coverage

Charter Communications Reaches Carriage Agreement with Big Ten Network

Charter Communications has reached a multi-year distribution agreement with the Big Ten Network. This agreement will allow Charter to carry the Big Ten Network and programming related to Big Ten throughout the Big Ten territory, the areas which will also include Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Northern Illinois. Travel Channel To Premiere The Amazing Race on Sept. 3

Travel Channel has acquired exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to the long-running CBS’s Emmy Award-winning reality show “The Amazing Race.” The Travel Channel has secured the rights to broadcast Season - 12, 13, 14. Season 12 of The Amazing Race will be on air on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET.

NBCU Selects DISH Network and Ensequence To Provide Interactive TV Experience for Beijing Olympic Coverage

NBC Universal (NBCU) has selected Ensequence and DISH Network to transform NBCU’s coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games into a fully interactive experience. NBCU has chosen Ensequence to provide a separate interactive application on DishHOME on DISH Network Channel-100. NBCU’s 2008 Beijing Olympic Games experience wraps interactivity around live programming on DISH Network.

DISH Network will offer NBCU’s 2008 Beijing Olympic Games coverage through its Interactive TV mosaic, a multiple-screen showcase, available to more than 12 million iTV-enabled DISH Network subscribers from August 8 - August 24, 2008. The iTV mosaic will broadcast from six NBCU channels: CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, USA Network and two Olympic highlight channels. DISH Network subscribers can watch all six screens simultaneously or select one channel to watch in full-screen.

NBCU and Ensequence are teaming up for the second time to deliver interactive television to viewers.
