Verizon Communications announced that FiOS TV service is available in three more municipalities in New Jersey. Verizon started launching its FiOS TV service in New Jersey in December 2006 and it’s now available to 348 municipalities in New Jersey.
Verizon’s FiOS TV service is now available to more than 1.9 million homes and businesses in 19 counties.
Following are the three municipalities where Verizon has launched FiOS TV service:
- Hamilton Township, in Atlantic County
- Middle Township, in Cape May County
- New Brunswick, in Middlesex County
Mary Yarbrough, vice president of marketing and sales operations for Verizon’s Mid-Atlantic region, said “Customers in New Jersey have enthusiastically embraced FiOS, which offers a suite of services that old-fashioned cable companies just can’t match. With choice finally available to them, consumers here have embraced FiOS, which has the most HD channels and the fastest, two-way broadband connection speeds available in the state.”
Verizon Wireless is a sponsor of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Xtreme Bulls Tour at the Oklahoma State Fair held at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. Verizon Wireless also participates in State Fair Park on both weekends of this year’s State Fair, which began on Sept. 17 and runs through Sept. 27.
Xtreme Bulls events will take place Sept. 25-26 at the State Fair Arena and will include live concert performances from 38 Special on Friday, Sept. 25 and Gary Allan on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Verizon Wireless has launched V CAST Mobile TV service to its subscribers in South Florida on July 3. This service will give customers access to their favorite television programs while they travel. Verizon has already launched V CAST Mobile TV service in Florida markets, including Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Gainesville.
This service offers high-quality video from the best of broadcast and cable TV 24 hours a day that includes the “Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” “CSI: NY,” “Quiero Mis Quinces,” “Penguins of Madagascar,” “Price Is Right” and many more.

Verizon has recently launched more than 90 new channels including 71 high-definition channels to its FiOS TV lineup in Massachusetts. Verizon is now offering more than 500 channels for Massachusetts customers that includes 116 HD channels and also have library of more than 15,000 video-on-demand (VOD) titles each month.
Verizon has recently launched its FiOS TV service in Marblehead and this is among 96 Massachusetts communities where the Verizon’s new television service is available.

Verizon Communications has announced the launch of Verizon FiOS services in Northern Texas region. Verizon has expanded its fiber-optic network in Allen, Bartonville, Colleyville, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Frisco, Grapevine, Keller, Plano and Watauga areas last year to deliver FiOS services directly to home. FiOS services will be delivered through all-digital fiber-optic network all the way to consumers’ homes.
Verizon will start delivering the FiOS services to more than 27,000 households throughout the year. FiOS TV service will deliver more than 425 total channels in North Texas, including more than 100 HD channels, this is more than any area cable TV provider, and also super-fast FiOS Internet service with downstream speeds of up to 50 megabits per second.
Trinidad Aguirre, Verizon’s president for the South West region said “Verizon’s FiOS services have been enthusiastically received here in North Texas, and we’ve responded by expanding our fiber-optic network to customers who have asked for the services but live in neighborhoods just outside our traditional service areas, these customers will be the big winners because Verizon’s FiOS services bring choices that they’ve never had before.”
ESPN Network has launched ESPNU HD on August, 2008 coinciding with the start of the College Football season and is now delivering more than 200 HD events that include all of its Live Thursday and Saturday college football games and also exclusive coverage of college basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, hockey and more.
During the launch the HD simulcast, ESPN HD was carried by the leading operators like Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS TV, RCN, Atlantic Broadband and Broadstripe. Recently AT&T also added the collegiate sports channel. Comcast has also struck a deal to carry ESPNU.
The leading satellite provider DirecTV has recently announced that ESPNU will be added to Choice programming package starting July, 1. But there is no news regarding HD simulcast launch and subscribers are expecting before the 2010 college season.
Verizon FiOS has announced that it has reached a multiyear carriage deal with the regional sports network “YES Network.” The sports network will be available on the FiOS TV Extreme HD programming service at no extra cost to subscribers.
The regional sports network will be the first of its kind to launch nationally in HD. YES Network will be available to Extreme HD subscribers on channel 595.

Verizon Communications has added MLB Network in high-definition and MLB Extra Innings to its programming lineup. Verizon has announced this at the time of 2009 Major League Baseball season is about to start.
Verizon subscribers need to have HD set-top boxes and signed up for Verizon Extreme programming package to receive MLB Network HD without any extra charge. At present the sports network is available to FiOS TV Premier, Essential and Extreme subscribers. Verizon will bring 80 live out-of-market MLB games per week, which include 10 games in HD every week.

Verizon announced the launch of 18 new channels to its FiOS TV subscribers in California. Verizon subscribers in California now receive 110 high-definition channels and more than 1,200 high-definition video-on-demand (VOD) titles every month.

E! Entertainment and Verizon Wireless have partnered to launch a new video channel on the Verizon Hub. “E! Video” available on Verizon Hub will control the communication center in the home. The communication center will bridge wireline and wireless connectivity and runs on any broadband connection. The Verizon Hub allows to navigate on touch screen with on-demand access to an array of services. Program offerings on the E! video channel include daily segments from the network’s popular franchises “E! News,” “Daily 10″ and “The Soup.”
