Smithsonian Channel has won its first Emmy Award for its “The Magic of Motion.” The award was presented for this episode of Smithsonian’s popular series NATURE TECH. This three episode series describes how a new field, bio-memetics, brings technology and nature together by looking to nature for answers to mysteries that it has already solved. Emmy was awarded for Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft – Cinematography – Nature Documentaries/Dramatic Recreations category. The series produced by ORF Universum also won “Best Limited Series” at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
“We are pleased to be the youngest network to win this prestigious award,” said Tom Hayden, General Manager of Smithsonian Networks. This honor demonstrates that Smithsonian Channel represents outstanding quality, and we congratulate our partners at ORF for their contributions to this remarkable miniseries.”
