Verizon has expanded its fiber-optic network in Allen, Bartonville, Colleyville, Double Oak, Flower Mound, Frisco, Grapevine, Keller, Plano and Watauga areas last year to deliver FiOS services directly to home. FiOS services will be delivered through all-digital fiber-optic network all the way to consumers’ homes.
Verizon will start delivering the FiOS services to more than 27,000 households throughout the year. FiOS TV service will deliver more than 425 total channels in North Texas, including more than 100 HD channels, this is more than any area cable TV provider, and also super-fast FiOS Internet service with downstream speeds of up to 50 megabits per second.
Trinidad Aguirre, Verizon’s president for the South West region said “Verizon’s FiOS services have been enthusiastically received here in North Texas, and we’ve responded by expanding our fiber-optic network to customers who have asked for the services but live in neighborhoods just outside our traditional service areas, these customers will be the big winners because Verizon’s FiOS services bring choices that they’ve never had before.”
